Nice demonstration, but I do believe the fecal float directions suggest 15 to 20 minutes bedsore examining your slide. This allows the eggs (especially smaller ones i.e coccidiosis) ample time to surface. 10 minute wait time could lead to unnecessary finding no parasites and/or ova.

Thank yout for your comment Thomas, if you are using a sugar solution as your float medium, yes, the float time should be 20min. A 10min wait time should be the MINIMUM amount of time you leave it to give any ova a chance to float. Longer wait times are fine, as long as you don't wait too long so that the float medium starts to crystallize on the cover slip.

One also Trick to view "bad bacteria" i.e clostridium/rods, is to do a wright stain smear. You can also identify giardia cyst that way.

Thanks Ana, so true! Everything looks more pretty after a wright's stain! Those of you staining fecal slides are probably already doing this, but please separate your fecal stain jars from your CBC and other cytology stain jars so there's no cross contamination. Because poop is gross...
